To register a two-wheeled vehicle, you are asked to bring the required documents to the Transportation Administration Division of the Gu (District) or Gun (County) office, or Eup or Myeon (Village) or Dong Community Service Center (in Gijang-gun and Gangseo-gu) responsible for your neighborhood.

According to the revision of the Automobile Management Act, the registration of two-wheeled vehicles with an engine capacity of less than 50cc which were purchased before January 1, 2012 is now required by June 30, 2012. Any such two-wheeled vehicles purchased after January 1, 2012 require immediate registration before being ridden.
Report of change of address or owner's name
Any change of address or change in owner's name needs to be reported within 15 days (Article 48 of the Automobile Management Act).
When a transfer of ownership has taken place, it needs to be reported to the District Office, or Eup or Myeon or Dong Community Service Center (in Gijang-gun and Gangseo-gu) responsible for the neighborhood where you live.
Penalties related to a change of address or owner's name
[ Violations will result in a fine (of up to 100,000 won).]
If you voluntarily report a violation, you may receive a reduced fine.※ Riding a two-wheeled vehicle without registration will result in a fine of 500,000 won
Taking out insurance and penalties related to failure to take out insurance
It is mandatory for the owner of a two-wheeled vehicle to have insurance. Violations will result in a fine.
When no longer using your two-wheeled vehicle, you can report cancellation or discontinuation of use as follows:
