8. Expanding Metropolitan Transportation Networks across the Southeastern Region

Busan is becoming bigger and better. With the expansion of metropolitan transportation networks in the Southeastern region, Busan, Ulsan and the Gyeongnam region will become closer and closer and will effectively exist as one life zone, and this will serve to further boost the status and role of Busan.

With the completion of new metropolitan transportation networks centered on Busan, including a beltway at the outskirts of the city, the Donghaenambu Line's Double Track Railway Line and the Busan~Gimhae Light Rail Transit system, eight million of the Southeast's residents will enjoy the benefits of a single metropolitan economic environment served by a closely linked traffic network.

Busan City will spare no efforts in reinforcing its functional capacity and competitiveness in the Southeastern metropolitan economic network by expanding various metropolitan transportation facilities such as its railways, expressways and metro lines, thereby reducing logistical and other business costs and providing greater convenience in transportation.
