Gamcheon Culture Village Festival 2018

The City of Busan formed the Busan City Festival Promotion Committee on January 23, 2019 at Busan City Hall to evaluate local festivals organized by the 16 city regions in 2018.

The results of the committee include;

Gamcheon Culture Village Festival in Saha-gu being selected as the best festival.

Nakdong River Gupo-naru Festival in Buk-gu and Gijang Anchovy Festival in Gijang-gun selected as outstanding festivals.

Dalmaji Oncheon Festival in Haeundae-gu, Busan Mackerel Festival in Seo-gu and Hydrangea Festival in Yeongdo-gu chosen as the most promising festivals.

A comprehensive evaluation took place which included festival experts’ on-site evaluations, festival-related big data, festival content, their growing potential, festival results and other criteria.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism annually selects cultural tourism festivals from among the festivals recommended by local governments. After finalizing a list, the Korea Tourism Organization promotes them within Korea and overseas.
