Let me start by extending to you my sincerest welcome to our city.

Busan is growing day by day as a pivotal economic hub in Northeast Asia, an important center for the film and visual culture industries, and a leading marine logistics and financial center.

Major press articles have termed the growth of Busan as a “Silent Revolution”.

During my next four-year term as the popularly elected mayor of Busan, and in order to see Busan evolve into one of the ‘Top 10 metropolitan areas in the world’, we will make our City stronger in terms of its economy, culture, welfare and environment, by completing world-class infrastructure projects and by continuing to grow in a sustainable way. In addition, Busan will play the leading role in the Southern region of the Korean peninsula as an international gateway connecting the Pacific Rim and the Eurasian land mass.

Our citizens’ hopes and dreams will make for a brighter future.
